Laravel CMS: these content management systems are available
Laravel has many great content management systems. From generalists to minimalists to open source and commercial solutions.
If you want to create a new website with Laravel that needs a CMS, here is an overview of the most common solutions.
October
October CMS is a young content management system based on the popular PHP framework Laravel. CMS made its first appearance in 2013 under the motto “Back to Basics”. At the heart of the system is a built-in code editor that allows front-end developers to develop a website on the Internet.
Since the October CMS focuses almost exclusively on professional web service providers, the makers of version 2 switched from an open source license to a commercial license in April 2021.
Thousands of digital studios and professional web developers have built businesses with October. Their customers love the platform for its reliability and simplicity. October-CMS is used as a primary platform by companies that have world-renowned brands in their portfolio, such as KFC, Toyota and Nestle.
The Dallas Museum of Art uses October CMS in its information kiosks. This CMS is especially popular among users in the USA and Russia, as well as in Europe: Switzerland, Poland, the Netherlands, the UK and other countries.
October is designed as a “back to basics” web platform that makes website development, design and editing faster and more intuitive. It covers a wide range of functionalities, such as creating a user system, setting up policies for access rights and connecting plug-ins; it can be used to create everything from simple advertising pages to powerful web applications and online stores. October CMS supports the linking of themes.
The popularity of the platform in the developer community is due to its clean and modern code base and steep learning curve, as well as a unique template system that is easy to manage with version control systems. In January 2020, October ranked second in the number of stars on GitHub among repositories for CMSs written in the PHP programming language.
Asgard CMS
A fairly new (2015) project, but already gaining popularity. Asgard-CMS is aimed more at developers than general users, since the installation itself must be done via the command line. The creators of Asgard-CMS see the advantages of this engine in this:
- a) easy installation (takes no more than 5 minutes);
- b) multilingual (including backend);
- c) modular (each part of the CMS is a separate module)
- and d) convenient, comfortable.
And the main advantages of the system: responsive design (the site is easy to see on any device), working with PHP 7.0 and readiness (website development on Asgard CMS takes only a few days, not weeks and months).
Asgard-CMS ready-to-use modules make your life easier! There are a variety of application-ready modules, choose the ones your application requires! An attractive dashboard combined with custom widgets provides you and your customers with excellent visibility.
This is content management out of the box. Add custom fields to enhance your pages. With a centralized media management, define the dimensions of thumbnails of images. Permissions are flexible and easy to manage. Define user rights in a configuration file.
Manage all your modules in the workshop. Publish assets, view change logs, and more! Manage multiple menus, reorder items with drag and drop, and display them anywhere. Ready to use in less than 5 minutes! Clone the repository, run the installation script and you are ready to go.

Statamic
This is a flat file system CMS. It is based on Laravel, which in turn is one of the most modern PHP frameworks. There are several good reasons why WordPress should be used here and there.
But there are also arguments in favor of Statamic, safety for example. About 79% of all hacked websites are based on WordPress. This does not necessarily mean that the system is insecure. The extreme prevalence just automatically ensures that attackers will target WP.
If you have a developer who is constantly taking care of website maintenance, all the better. But not every company can afford it. Laravel is a PHP framework used to build web applications and other types of websites. Statamic is a powerful and versatile development tool with scalability, good built-in caching and fast development speed.
Twill
A content management system for today’s makers. Modern digital products are delightful and dynamic – the tools that run them should be, too. It’s time for intuitive, powerful, and flexible publishing experiences. Twill makes it a snap to create and curate compelling narratives, giving you personalized control over fast-moving digital workflows.
Twill has design controls that ensure the integrity of your design system without limiting the creative needs of publishers. Twill gives you the freedom to create a powerful admin console without compromising developer control by balancing conventions and configurations.
